GETTING HELP

If you're worried about your drug use or if you want to give up drugs, why not talk to someone about it?

There are groups and organisations in the Greater Blanchardstown Area that can help you right away.
These are:

Community Drug Teams (CDT)

There are 3 Community Drug Teams in the Greater Blanchardstown area; these are Hartstown/Huntstown CDT, Mountview/Blakestown CDT and Mulhuddart/Corduff CDT. If you live in the Dublin 15 area, but not in the exact areas above, you can still contact any of the CDTs.

Through these Community Drug Teams, you can get advice and information about the treatment options that are open to you and your family.

If you don't want to give up drugs, the CDTs can still help you to reduce the harm that drugs can cause.

If you'd like to get in touch with any of the Community Drug Teams listed above, please telephone the GBRD on 01 8262364 or e-mail us at info@gbrd.ie.

Your Local GP (General Practitioner)

You might feel more comfortable speaking with your family doctor about your drug use.

Your GP can give you all the information you need and may be able to refer you for treatment. As with all visits to your GP - this will be private and confidential.

If you don't feel comfortable talking with your own GP, you can make an appointment to see a GP in a different area.

Outreach Workers

From the Health Services Executive - Eastern Region or your local Community Drug Team.

(The Northern Area Health Board has now changed its name to the Health Services Executive - Eastern Region)

Outreach workers go out into the community to make contact with drug users, who may not already be getting help. You may come across them in your local park, school or cafe.

They can help you to become more aware of safer injecting practices and sexual health. They can also arrange treatment options for you, depending on your needs.

If you'd like to get in touch with an Outreach Worker in your area, please telephone the GBRD on 01 8262364 or e-mail us at info@gbrd.ie.

And, don't forget about us - the GBRD phonelines are open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and we can provide you with free, confidential information. You can telephone the GBRD on 01 8262364 or e-mail us at info@gbrd.ie.
