Although you can't predict the future, two things are likely to change:
...our local communities are likely to change
...the drugs issue itself is likely to change
At the GBRD, our goal is to help local communities respond to the
drug issue in their area, whatever the future brings. This means that the
GBRD will change and adapt in response to the drugs issue too.
Over the next year, our plans at the GBRD will include:
Launch of 'Let's Talk About Drugs MEDIA AWARDS', to stimulate debate around the drug issue.
Organisation of the Blanchardstown Drug Awareness Week, in conjunction with the Blanchardstown Local Drugs Task Force.
Co-Ordination of the Annual Service of Commemoration and Hope for those affected by drug related deaths.
Campaign to highlight the need for a central drug treatment facility in Dublin 15.
Organisation of the Blanchardstown Addiction Studies course and Drugs Awareness Courses and Workshops.
Support for the setting up of a Family Support Group in the Castaheaney/ Littlepace area.
Organisation of Public Meetings to create awareness of drug related issues.
Provision of a Telephone Information Service.
